The Late BISHOP THOMAS E. CHENAULT

Bishop Thomas E. Chenault, a native of Orlando, Florida, and devoted husband to Winifred Chenault.  Together they have three children: Thomas II, Eddie, and Nina Chenault.  Bishop Chenault has been in the ministry for more than forty years and has served the body of Christ in various capacities.


Bishop Chenault has served as the Florida-Cocoa Administrative Bishop for the Church of God, Church of God Orlando District Overseer, Christian Education Director, and Church of God State Secretary-Treasurer for the Florida-Cocoa Executive Office.  Additionally, he has served on the Church of God State Board of Councilors, Church of God International Pastors Advisory Council, as well as on the Church of God International Black Ministry Advisory Board. 

 

Bishop Chenault has held Pastoral leadership in churches throughout the State of Florida, as well as in East New Market, Maryland.  His longest and most successful pastoral tenure was at the Livingston Street Church of God. Bishop Chenault was the Senior Pastor of the Livingston Street Church of God for thirty-three years and led the church to exponential growth and expansion throughout his Pastorate.  Most recently, Bishop Chenault has joined forces with his son in the ministry, Bishop Kelvin L. Cobaris and together they have launched The Impact Church of Orlando- a ministry dedicated to impacting all generations through the love of Jesus Christ.


In addition to his ministerial accolades and service to the Body of Christ, Bishop Chenault has also served as a Medical Technician in the United States Army, has a degree in Business Administration, a Doctorate Degree of Theology, a Doctorate Degree of Literature-D.Litt, and has devoted himself to continuous pursuits of knowledge.  Bishop Chenault is also a prominent community leader and is affectionately referred to as “The Godfather.” He has served as an honorary Deputy of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, a treasurer of the African American Council of Christian Clergy, a member of the NAACP, and Orange County School Advisory Council.

Bishop Chenault is a wise and innovative leader.  He is a blessing wherever he goes and has committed himself to carrying out the mandate of Christ—loving others as Christ loves us.
